A special free evening of Irish music and film, featuring a preview of Björn Rallare’s new documentary Goodnight Pineapple, followed by a director Q&A, and the world cinema premiere of a newly restored 4K version of ANÚNA Celtic Origins. ANÚNA, Ireland’s National Choir, presents a special free evening at Bíó Paradís during the ensemble’s first visit to Iceland. Filmed over several years in Iceland and Ireland, Goodnight Pineapple is a warm, funny and sometimes painful documentary by Björn Rallare about composer Michael McGlynn and what happens when changing hearing affects a life built around listening and music. The screening will be followed by a discussion and audience Q&A with Björn Rallare. The second film is the world cinema premiere of a newly recut, re-edited and 4K-restored version of ANÚNA Celtic Origins. The original film was broadcast on more than 220 PBS stations across the United States in 2007 and 2008 but has never previously been screened outside the United States. Finnish violinist Linda Lampenius appears as special guest. Doors open at 18:45. Programme begins at 19:00 and finishes at 22:00. Admission is free, but advance reservation is required.
