Stefán Ragnar is the Berliner Philharmoniker’s new principal flautist. Previously he held the position of principal flautist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and before that the same position with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Stefán Ragnar has entertaining stories to share that give insight into what it takes to achieve such success like the fact that as a child he was driven the 600+ kilometres from Reyðarfjörður to Reykjavík to attend flute lessons.
